    1041 ERROR

Which extension form were you using? IRS won't allow 4868 efile with a 1041.
  2. Last year the clergy worhsheets had to be mailed with the 8453. This year the worksheet data is included in the efile so they don't get mailed. In their infinite wisdom, IRS shut off worksheet 3 for 2106 adjustments until March 30. So if you're using the third, you have to snail mail until April. Or wait.
  3. How much would you want to pay for ATX? Compare the prices.
  4. It might be. IRS allows current year decedant efiles. It just depends on how fast IRS gets the updates from SSA.
  5. It all has to be mailed.
  6. Yes. You set yourself up as the ERO and enter his info as paid preparer on separate lines in the Preparer Manager,

    KY e-file

Which KY form are you using. If it's nonresident, the state KY doesn't accept those in an efile.
  8. You're paper filing an amended return, right?
  9. That's an IRS requirement for efile, not an instruction for completing a return. Here's the text of the error the IRS would return if the software didn't prevent efiling. ERC 0426 Form 1040 – Other Payments must equal the total of the following fields:Tax Paid by Regulated Investment Company from Form 2439, Total Income Tax Credit Amount from Form 4136, Current Year Refundable Credit from Form 8801, plus Health Coverage Tax Credit from Form 8885. Just because it's correct doesn't always mean it can be efiled.
  10. The new tab for Other Property is used to input both page 1 AND page 2 donations. The program will sort them and put them on the correct page. Also note that there's a new tab for vehicle donations. The IRS added to their e-file specs and is collecting more information for vehicles. They require a pseudo-1098C for vehicles and the new worksheet satisfies that requirement for the efiled portion. Also see Form 8453. IRS wants that 1098C record in the efile plus the snail mailed copy.
  11. copied from the iRS site posted by taxbilly Q. Would I be considered a first time homebuyer if I owned a principle residence outside of the United States within the previous three years? A. Yes. A taxpayer who owned a principal residence outside of the United States within the last three years is not disqualified from taking the credit for a purchase within the United States.
  12. There's a name for this in transactional analysis - NIGYSOB.
