Taxpayer ITIN

Hello

Does someone had efile returns with taxpayers or dependents using ITIN instead of SSN.

Please let me know your experiences, if there is a problem transmiting this kind of returns, where SSN on W2 form doesn't match with Taxpayer's ITIN.

Pedro

Pedro, on the W-2 form you should use the SSN they are using and on the front page of the 1040 use the ITIN they have.

It means there is not problem to transmit in that way?

Did you transmit this kind of returns with this situation?

Thanks Eli

Thanks again

IRS began allowing ITIN to be efiled last year. I sent many and they were accepted. But I noticed last it took longer to get an acknowlegment from IRS last year. But they were accepted.

Note: this year I sent four already two days ago; so far, I only "Validated by EFC." I don't know if it is an IRS or an ATX issue.

I am thinking it is probably ATX...

I did it 2-3 times last year and it worked fine. Like Kodex mentioned, it does seem to take a little bit longer for acks, but it works.

Buena Suerte!!
