I have been e-filing since it began...seems like a lifetime ago...but I have never run into this before and want to make sure I do this right before I file the return. I do know the client (in a small town you know most people's business), she doesn't have a bank account, lives with her boyfriend but does not use his address for her personal mail, she does have a PO Box. Will the IRS mail a refund check to a PO Box? Or am I just making things more difficult than they are?
TIA

New situation for me

I see no reason the IRS would not mail the refund check to post office box. I'm sure I have had some in the past that went to a PO box.

The Form 1040 instructions indicate not to use a PO Box in the entity section, however, the returns I have had in the past with a PO Box they have mailed the checks to them.

We have many small towns that the only address they have is a PO Box. No problems.

I have a client who has never had anything other than a PO Box and it has never been a problem. (Lives in a very small town as indicated above). I just never thought about it.
