Notice the little orange box in front of the title to posts? If you click on that box, or on the title of the thread, it will take you to the thread. But clicking on the box instead of the name does more. It takes you to the 'next unread post' in that thread. So if you had looked at the thread before, clicking on the orange box skips over the posts you've already read, and takes you right to where you want to start reading followup posts.

If you are a frequent visitor, I have also found that clicking on the words "Last Post by......." to the right of the subject will also get you there in a hurry. Seems like erc thought of everything!

I've noticed that a lot of you have never put anything at all into your member profile. While you are not required to put anything at all there, it would really be nice if everyone would at least put in their general location, at least the state you are in. And any other info that is relevant, like if you are a CPA, EA, CPTx, CFP, etc, your age, even your hobbies, if you wish, could help others when it comes to replying to you, perhaps. This is not a requirement, but I do think it could enhance the value of this board, to have more info available about our members. Please consider it.

Go to "My Controls" at top of log in page. This will take you to a page with lots of choices. On the left hand side, as you scan down, you will see "Edit my Profile". Click on it and edit away....

As a lot of you are just now coming back to, or finding, this board, I will once again ask all of you to PLEASE put into your profile at least your state, for the benefit of all of us in knowing what state you are in. This helps if we want to ask a question of someone on the board about a state form, or even just if we are reading an answer about something that might be affected by state law differences, like labor law questions, for example.

It also might let us find a new friend to turn to, if we need to discuss a state tax question or form. Or just to know a fellow ATXer for social reasons.

When you finish reading a post you can return to the list by clicking on the Go button at the bottom of the page, lower right.
