If anyone is having a problem filing a state only return, remember that you have to put a small amount of interest into the Federal Return in order to be able to create a state only return. In my case, it was filing a Homestead Credit claim for WI. I fooled around forever until I remembered that I had to populate some sort of income onto the Fed return to make it go. I added $10 Interest income and the WI efile created.........finally.

Also, found out that you have to put a check in the box at the top of the "State" e-file info form which lets you choose to "unlink" the State from the Fed. Otherwise, it will reject with an error code of State-901.

Is anyone having fun yet?

I only add $1 of interest on the Fed form to do a WI Homestead alone...been having to do that for a few years now. I've had to 'Unlink' several WI returns for submission ID errors because it seems they were accepted before the Federal was. Also have about 10 outstanding WI acks out there from as far back as 1/25 that CCH is supposedly still working on...it seems to be 1 out every 6 I file gets hung up....Having a great time here...LOL
