  1. Actually the one that did appear on Springer show (no joke, actually did apppear), that would be my client. Bob and myself both practice in Sidney. Hey JB..................where is Chaz? Haven't seen him hanging around lately! Single Dad
  2. Client with a 4 yr Degree, RN at a Hospital is attending online classes for her Graduate Degree. The additional degree will only result in additonal pay. My thought is to take the tuition expenses off on the schedule A rather than the tuition deduction. Actually results in a higher refund on the return. When following the chart provided in Pub 17 she meets all the test's of including on sched. A Seeking additional opinions here besides my own. Regards, Single Dad
  3. He's busy chasing Friggin Banana's! Chaz is busy chasing LY's Staff around the square in Downtown Sidney! Crazy Mary is taking a bath on US RT 36 now just down the road from my office! Peeeee Uuuuuuuuuuu! Single Dad is trying to get caught up (like that'll ever happen) Easy Booger don't disturb the phones, lol, I'm finally getting some work done! lol Single Dad :P
  4. Not as busy with the local's in the new location as I'd like to be at this point. Sidney clients are kicking my "whazoo" though! I've met some really nice people here though I gotta say that much. My thinking is a non-local in a small town just don't smell the same lol! It will take some time in this town I can tell that much. Later, Single Dad
  5. Send your neighbor to our area. I'm convinced one particular one would claim the dog! lol Single Dad
  6. JB..........I think it's time for Lenny the Pirate to wear a Diaper or something. This is totally unacceptable for the rush ya know! lol Regards, Single Dad
  7. On the floor laughing on that one! By the way, there is a location in Lima, OH that I'm aware of and they do the same advertising gimmick. Regards, Single Dad
  8. So........couple comes into my little office asks me to do there taxes. Interestingly enough they had just left "A Nationally Advertised Firm" preparer didn't know how to handle overpaid FICA, tuition credit, limits on itemized deductions or anything else it appears. Total amounts refund on fed 9,000, amt due on state 3,000. My calculations after taking the time to do the return correctly. Federal Refund 12,000 & state due 1,500. Thankfully, they came to my office. Can't wait to hear everyone's responses. Regards, Single Dad
  9. JB...............Chaz is up to his trickery again! I just slipped on a banana peel here in fletcher............Hmmmmmmmmm We need an investigation on this one...........I too have to lean towards calling ATX Support on the issue. Regards, Single Dad
  10. Actually, JB we know it's really not you that's doing the cooking! It's your daughter teaching dad how to cook. The first lesson is spaghetti, then onto the more difficult meals. Chaz told me the truth.........Sorry JB Single Dad
  11. JB.......Crazy Mary has walked to Fletcher! My office now stinks according to an e-mail I received from an anonymous source! First she stinks up Downtown Sidney, and now the Fletcher office as well! I'm being followed! Your help is necessary, what do I need to do to get rid of these leaches! Single Dad
  12. Booger -- I switched to Tax Act this year. My gut just kept telling me this would not be a smooth transition. As far as JB's girlfriend goes, Well! In 2005 she was in the Victoria Secret Fashion Show..................!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to say two offices has me running all over. Regards, Single Dad
  13. Good point KC, and just in the nick of time as I'm typing up the correspondence letter to the client and almost ready to hand deliver. Once again, my sincere thanks! Regards, Single Dad
  14. Client has stroke is now in a nursing home. Wife has no POA over anything at this point. Client has good and bad days. Wife wants to get a POA for tax return purposes. My thought on this is have her get a 2848, for herself to sign the joint return and a 8821 for myself in the event the return needs to be discussed. Client is unable to speak but can atleast give a nod of approval. Anyone else ever run into this situation, sharing what u did/how u approached the situation would be appreciated. Thank You Single Dad
  15. Hey Booger. We are back on the board but did change softwares this tax season. After reading some of the problems, I'm glad I did make the switch. We added our second office this year as well. Best wishes, feel free to send and e-mail anytime. [email protected] Regards, Singledad
