  1. As I mentioned, I have had no problems with the printers working for ATX in all the previous years I have had them. It's been just this year. Printers are Brother HL-3140CW color, and Brother MFC7440N. I am very sure that if there was a problem with the printers, they would not work for anything that I print. That is not the case. Printers work fine for everything else.
  2. Yes, Both printers are updated. (Also, verified by the ATX tech.)
  3. ATX tech took over my computer to fix my problem of my printers(2) not printing for ATX only, even though everything else on my computer is printing just fine. His final conclusion was that my printers did not have the correct "code" to print the "sensitive" information that was coming from my ATX program. We have had these printers for 3 or 4 years, and have never had this problem with ATX until now. Has anyone else heard of this, or had this same problem? Thanks.
  4. I have entered the code "N" for nonresident. However, the program is taxing the amount of total income rather than just the Pennsylvania income. Do I have to put in dates, too? I have tried that also, but still wants to tax the full income. Other thoughts?
  5. Can someone with knowledge of the Pennsylvania tax forms tell me what form I need to complete for a client from Illinois that works for ComEd, and spent a week in Pennsylvania in 2018, helping with storm damage. Is there a specific form for non-residents? Can't seem to find any. Thanks in advance.
  6. Couple was married in May, 2018. Each one owned their own qualified residence and each one sold their individual qualified residence. Each one received a Form 1099-S at closing. I can only see that one qualified house can be used at the "Sale Principal Residence Input" tab on the Form 8949. How can I add the second residence to the Form 8949? Thanks.

family size 2 household income: 1099R 13,622. SS 19,877. Total 33,499. 1095A (for 11 months) a)8,453 b)8,144 c)7,414 Form 8965 is telling me that there is no penalty on the taxpayer not having any coverage. Form 8962 is telling me that there is $1353 of excess premium credit charged to the spouse. So, the taxpayer, who has no coverage all year, has no penalty. The spouse, who has coverage on the market for 11 months, is being charged $1353 for excess premium credits.

As stated, the penalty calculation is zero.

Taxpayer had no coverage during the year, but his spouse was enrolled in the advanced payment of premium tax credit for the last 11 months of the year. Modified AGI is $33,499. Form 8962 is indicating an amount of $1353 of excess credit. However, Form 8965 is indicating 0 shared responsibility. So, no penalty for him, but excess credit payback for her? Is this correct or am I missing something?
  10. Client sold farmland that she had been renting out since she inherited it 4 years ago. The land was sold at a loss. Use Form 4797, or Schedule D?
  11. Can I just amend the K-1 and send it in, or do I have to complete the entire Form 1041 as an amended return?
  12. Sorry, I should have mentioned that I am the preparer for the Trust.
  13. I was just notified that a K-1 individual on a Trust return has an incorrect social security listed for her. How do we go about amending a K-1? The Trust return has already been submitted and accepted by the IRS (and state). Thanks.
  14. I am getting a Warning: The drivers license number has not been inserted.... Illinois is not requiring this action, but this is being request for the Fed 1040. Is anyone filling this in for this year?
  15. Individual was the owner of a farm, that when she died several years ago, she left it in a trust for her brother so as to receive the income as long as he lived. He died recently, and now the trust is dispersing the assets of the trust, including the proceeds from the sale of the farm. The brother did not at any time own the farm. Am I assuming correctly that the basis in the farm sold is the value of the farm at the time of the individual owner's death, which occurred several years ago?
