  1. I have been having the same problem and none of their fixes work for me. Tech has sent to programers. I called yesterday to see if they knew anything yet and he said no. This software this year is a big pile of "poo"
  2. Click on the returns you want to export. The menu should go black and you can click it. Next you will agree with the returns that you want to export. Then it will give you a choice of where to export to...find computer...then flash drive.
  3. Has anyone got a list of specfic questions they ask for the due diligence requirement? I personally know most of my client but I have a few I do not.
  4. And did you some of the language that people were using. Kimmie got an ear full from person. I did not even have to call them last year. I have not called yet this year just try to check both here and the ATX community page to see of others are having the same problems I am. It is just so slow and yesterday while doing a tax return with a client sitting at my desk the program crashed!
  5. I do think there should be some regualations on who can fill out tax returns and CE. I have passed my RTRP. ( which at this time looks like it is just a piece of paper) I did the CE even more than was required. I have always gone to Tax Schools before each tax season. I would have been stupid not to to see what the changes were. It is the money that we paid!
  6. I just saw that. After the time and money I paid for a study course, took the test, (and passed).Paid for the test! I am realy mad. My husband kept saying after seeinr the number of people that were putting off this that there would not be enough people to pass and fill tax returns. Again , MAD!
  7. District Court Ruling Regarding IRS RTRP Regulations On Friday, as some of you may already know, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has ruled against the IRS, enjoining it from enforcing the RTRP requirements. Therefore the requirement that non CPAs, Attorneys and Enrolled Agents must sit for and pass the exam cannot be enforced. In addition, the licensing requirement that imposes continuing education is also struck down. The requirement of having a PTIN was not part of the ruling and is a separate issue. Therefore, holding a PTIN is still a requirement. The court ruled that the IRS did not have authority to issue the regulations without a Statute issued by Congress. There are a few paths that may be taken: Congress may pass a law and give the IRS the authority and/or The IRS will appeal to the D.C. Circuit Court Note that the attorneys for the plaintiffs have stated that they will be ready to take it to the Supreme Court after that. The IRS has not commented as of this writing. NSTP encourages everyone to have a PTIN and obtain CPE even if you are not required to do so by the IRS. You and your clients benefit from your personal goals and knowledge. NSTP will keep you posted. Paul LaMonaca NSTP Director of Education
  8. I do have the master tax guide, but I got my books mixed up. I get The Tax Book Deluxe, too. That is what I got right after christmas. Sorry. I like the TaxBook better than the Express Answers.
  9. IRS Plans Jan. 30 Tax Season Opening For 1040 Filers Following the January tax law changes made by Congress under the American Taxpayer Relief Act (ATRA), the Internal Revenue Service announced today it plans to open the 2013 filing season and begin processing individual income tax returns on Jan. 30. The IRS will begin accepting tax returns on that date after updating forms and completing programming and testing of its processing systems. This will reflect the bulk of the late tax law changes enacted Jan. 2. The announcement means that the vast majority of tax filers -- more than 120 million households -- should be able to start filing tax returns starting Jan 30.
  10. I had someone call me Monday and ask if I could fill out her return with a check stub and I told her that was illegal according to 1345. And no I could not and would not fill her return that way. Anyway we cann't file untill they open up the efill on the 25th. I have in the past as a favor to some clients that do not have the internet download their W-2 from their company portal. I live in a very small town and not everone here has the internet believe it or not. Some are older clients, too.
  11. I got mine the week after Christmas.
  12. Just saw on the ATX"community" page that an update on the 10th might fix the slow problem. Hey KC have not been here in a while, hope all is well! I did pass my RTRP test in October.
  13. Went to tax school taught by Bob Jennings...in his teaching he seemed to think it okay to expense the roof as an expense. You are really just replacing the shingles and tar paper. I wonder if anyone knows a court case that I might refer to?
  14. Thanks, I'll think I will just keep mailing them in! I do about 25 or so 941 per qtr but for different companies. That would be way to many pins to keep up with and I will help keep the US Postal Service afloat, too! Thanks for you response.
  15. I have had a efin for a long time. At the time I applied for only tax returns. How do I go about getting one for 941s and 940s? Thanks.
