  1. Terry, The software will insert and populate the Form 9325 when the return is accepted by the IRS. I have not had a problem with this form.
  2. I played around a bit with it and found that the active participation must be checked on the Sch C for it to carry from the 4562. Had no problem getting it onto the 4562 however. Hopefully OLT Pro will be able to help you on Monday. Until then I would just go over the input for both of the forms slowly, line by line, and be sure everything is checked that should be. That is where I find most of my problems.
  3. 'Business Income Limitation' must be filed in - have you tried that?
  4. Terry - I was not able to add a new return last week.  The program said I had not paid or something.  Dan never called me back so today I called OLT-PRO directly and they were able to fix me.  They said they would send an email to Dan and let him know what they had done.  I just thought you might like to know.

  5. Easier for me just to type in '8879' than to scroll to the EF Info form. I just have a thing about customizing anything on the forms. The programmers do their job and I do mine.
  6. On the input screen for the 8879 you have to check the box "Entered by ERO" I have not had any problems.
  7. Go tothe ONEDESK HomePage and click on Demo/Downloads. Select Desktop Manual form the bottom of the page. Just change the year as printed in the instructions. Hope this helps - if not call Dan. Nellie
  8. The 1040ES is working well for me. The vouchers have been correct and I have been able to over-ride the amounts when needed. Maybe I just got lucky??
  9. Double click on the client you want to delete. Then you can delete - 4th button from the right under 'Client Manager' Nellie
  10. I just checked again and all 3 of my returns were accepted at around 4:30 pm. Hope yours got accepted as well. Nellie
  11. I have 3 returns in the queue. One I just did and one from 11:00 am (5.5 hours ago). I am in no rush so I will wait and see what happens. Nellie
  12. The Form 8959 does not seem to be calculating properly. The program wants to give a credit for the additional .9% of Medicare tax withheld over $200,000. The W-2 shows Medicare wages of $218,465 with Medicare withheld of $3,334 - which is correct. The program says it is $167 too much. The difference between the 1.45% and the 2.35% of the $18,465. I don't want to override this if I don't have to. The program should do it correctly. At least, that is how I feel. Dan is working on this and will get back to me to let me know about a fix.
  13. Thanks for confirming my thoughts. This will make this client a happy camper!!
  14. Taxpayer inherited a horse farm and sold everything as quickly as he could with the exception of the buildings and land which were rented after all the horses were sold in 2011. He received over $45,000 in breeder awards (box 3 of 1099 Misc) for 2013. I know this is taxable but do I put it on line 21 or on Sch F and pay SE tax. The taxpayer lives in Florida and the horse farm was in Louisiana. Any help appreciated.
  15. I just got an ACK for a NC return. Must be fixed, whatever it was.
  16. Thank you Terry - will give this a try now.
  17. Terry, I would appreciate that. I think I tried to do that last year but my nerves were just too frazzled after the TRX mess. I have found that at times the program will not see the internet so, each morning I start the program, do not log in but instead go to 'check for updates'. If the program says I am not connected to the internet I close it and restart it. Not seeing the internet caused updates not to load. Restarting the program usually solves the issue and updates come right in. Thanks.
  18. I went to OneDesk (reseller for OLTPro) last year when TRX wasn't working (end of January). I just can't trust TRX so yes, I renewed for the 2013 season with OneDesk. I find the customer service to be good. I had a few program problems last year that were fixed quickly - one was no farm option on the 2210, there was another one but I don't recall what it was. Updates run smoothly. The only thing I don't like are the client letters so, I have my own that I produce in MSWord. A word of caution on Depreciation - if you override the Accumulated Depr in the current year the program will hold it for next year as well. So, you will need to update the AD next year to include the 2013 Depreciation taken this year. Did that make sense? If there is anything I can help you with just post it here and if I have an answer I'll let you know. My blood pressure is much lower this year and I can actually relax and enjoy my work again. Nellie
  19. I have used GoToMyPC for several years and have not had any problems.
  20. I recently purchased a USB to VGA adapter. It plugs into any USB port and actds like a video card to enable 2 monitors. Just go to Amazon and do a search. It was somewhere around $50.
  21. I e-filed 9 returns with TRX. I had to immediately amend 2 of them due to program errors. Not a very good average. I did attempt to file 1 additional return that was rejected twice, also due to program errors.
  22. I have prepared close to 100 returns with OneDesk. I switched from TRX after I had to amend 2 returns due to the program not working properly. I found that there was a minimum learning curve for the program and I got used to its quirks quickly. The client letters are extremely basic (as in I don't like them ) and the program will not produce the client letter until after the return is transmitted. The invoice at the beginning of the year was a mess but they have fixed that now and it isn't so bad. Caution - you cannot efile until you create an invoice - might be a good thing as I usually forget that part. (Yeah, I know that is a duhhh) I have found the functionality to be good and the customer support is excellent. It seems that OneDesk and OLTPro have a good working relationship. Most of the worksheets print the information on the IRS worksheet that you would find in the Form 1040 Instructions or in the Pub 17 so they don't have the fancy look that RedGear had but they are functional. The printing is done in .pdf and goes very quickly for me. One bonus here is that I have found the number of pages per return is less so I save on paper and toner. If you do a lot of 1120S or 1065 returns it could be cumbersome as there is no partner or shareholder letter and it doesn't print Page 2 of the K-1. Or at least I can't figure out how to get it to print. I have had to set up my own letters outside of the program as well as printing the page 2. Not a lot of bells and whistles with the program but for me it is workable as all the basics are there. I don't know if this resale package is different than going straight through OLTPro. Perhaps someone else can address that. I have no clue why their marketing allows for using the program free the first year. I am just grateful they were there when I really needed an alternative to TRX. Hope this helps.
