Are you seeing Republic Bank loan on EIC? I just talked with Chase, this is our first time doing RAL in the past only RT, they said if the EIC is over half of the refund they will be denied. Had two clients, both working parents with some withholding and EIC. Both were denied because of the amount EIC to the total refund. Does Republic work the same way?

Yesterday we got a slew of rejects from the State of NC. Seems that from NC-400TC has an incorrect calculation on lines 16-18. I scan the forms when we first started the returns this year but didn't review the TC schedule since the main part of the return was correct. Called Tech immediately and they were unaware of the problem and then they didn't know the NC reject codes.... that is go fustrating. They will not let you talk directly to the software support. For over an hour I was on the phone explaining what was happening with the software. The support person had me on one line and talking to software on the other..... As of last night the problem is still not fixed. I attempted to override the form and resent last night. Hope it works. Anyone else do NC? Check your returns they will reject. S

Just got a new HP running 64 bit Vista. When I open up ATX 2008 I get an error message about files. The other years are fine. Got off the phone with ATX and they said that it is a no go with 64 Vista Windows and I might either want to change machine or software vendor!!!! Is anyone else having this problems with ATX 08? I really love the new machine and don't want to change. Thanks Stephanie

Thanks everyone, no the son is an adult and is not a dependant. The parents didn't want him to lose his license forever and the State and the attorneys advised him to pay up, of course he doesn't have the money and the parents had some savings. They didn't get him a new car the car related expenses was sent to GEICO the victim's insurance company.

Client just retired and within a month his adult son has a horrible accident. Son had let his insurance lapse. The parents dip into their 401k to pay $90,000 in lawyers, med and auto replacement cost for the son. Any deduction at all for the parents? The attorneys have not given a breakdown on the costs assigned to each. Terrible situation all around. Thanks

Thanks to whoever founded this forum. I so missed the message board after ATX suddenly stopped it last year. I have been an ATX user since 01 when my prior software company closed. For the last few days I have been dealing with with Customer No Service at ATX. They told me know that they have shipped my package 3 times since last week....maybe it finally made it out today.... Wow, hope Customer Service gets better as the season starts up. SPS
