  1. The proper handling of this situation is to fill out the 1099R input with the distribution in box 1, the taxable amount in box 2a, and enter the rollover taxable amount in 2b. It is reported as if the taxpayer did a 60-day rollover. On the explanation tab, I state this was rolled over before August 31 per regulations issued under the Cares Act. That will show the distribution correctly on the tax return and prevent any future notices.
  2. I was able to connect to EFC by clicking the Receive Acks icon but am hesitant to send my stockpiled e-files. With all of the issues of the past week I think I want to wait until at least tomorrow but probably Monday to transmit to make sure that the malware issues have been resolved. I am not concerned about the IRS accusing me of stockpiling given recent events.
  3. For the first time in my 30+ year career, I find the need to have a backup tax program entering a filing season. ATX has been my program for more than 15 years but the 2012 fiasco coupled with a less than perfect 2013 program has created the need to have a backup chosen prior to tax season in case it blows up again. I could not find another program that I really liked but had to narrow the field down to two, ProSeries and TaxWise. I would like to know if anyone has gone through a conversion from ATX to either of the programs and how good/accurate/complete was the result? We would be switching on the fly during tax season and the conversion may be the make or break point of tax season. Any input from someone with experience will be greatly appreciated.
  4. I got the 2013 beta to run on terminal services with 2 users accessing it at the same time. Did not go beyond 2 users. Speed is still an issue, however, my terminal services server is a little below the ATX system requirements. It was not any slower than 2012 one user.
  5. ATX appears to have written me off as a user even though I was a Beta tester. No one calls, no emails with special offers. It appears everyone else including previous but not current users are getting special offers. I am just sick over the decision of what software to go with. 15 year ATX user (since Parson's was purchased and eliminated by Intuit). Absolutely hate Drake, Many other programs (OLT, Tax Act, etc.) are missing forms or states that we prepare. ProSeries requires a bunch of extra add-ons to give me a usable program (most notably the import module). Don't like the layout of any other program. Sorry, just venting.
  6. Jack I was also a beta tester and would love to compare notes. We tested on a Windows SBS 2003 network setup. [email protected]
