'Open" Files on Server Network

I'm operating on a server network, where we just had to update from 12.15 to 12.18 after the whole system crashed and we attempted everything else to try to restore the system.

After the update it looks like we are running again. However some issues we had before we still have. We have a few files that we aren't able to open because it says its open another computer and it is not. We shut down the server and all of the desktops and rebooted but same error on this issue. Anyone have any work arounds?

I can't duplicate and if I restore we will lose a chunk of data.

I can possibly restore from our server backup but that could take a while to set up the paths and everything. Hoping for an easier answer.

Thanks.

they had me delete those files you were talking about. But it didn't help. Then they said because we are running on a domain network that is the reason that files won't open up. I told them there is no way we can run on a p2p and that is a joke. And I told them why is that I have some files that will open up and some files that wont. It loads them but I can't get it open. any other thoughts? Abt to call them back. Testing everything I can think of.

How many clients are in your program?

Update: We went through about 12 hours of tech support last week and basically went through all sorts of maneuvers to get the program running. Still haven't figured out what the exact issue is but it seems to have started with the program requiring so much from our servers that it crashed the part of the drive that the program and files were part of. Still troubleshooting but we recovered about 95% of our files and are running them from a separate location until we can determine what this program is doing that is so different when compared to the numerous other programs we have running. gah.
