grandmabee
Is there any way to rollover an return into the previous rolled over return.? I e-filed a return for extension. the 2014 return was not done at the time. Now I have the 2014 return done and need to rollover so carryovers will be correct. but it rolls over as a copy and not into the other return with the e-filed extension. thanks for any information. Jack from Ohio
No, but I have a workaround. Append the name of the current file to include "ext only" Rollover the 2014 return and use it to complete and e-file. I have done it several times.
TAXMAN
I agree with Jack. I add the ext to the name and then roll up the prior year for use as a finish return. Sometimes I duplicate the ext return and use this copy to finis out return. This way I can see where I may have missed the ext amount without messing my ext return. I keep the ext return marked completed so that it will not change.
