Text/SMS Reminder Software or App

Hi, I am wondering if anyone has a recommendation on a text reminder app or software to remind your clients of outstanding items required to prep or finalize returns? The vast majority of our clientele prefers text message communication. We of course prefer email for business purposes. Ideally, we'd love an email to text software and the reverse, where the client can text us and it shows up as an email on our end. I have asked our IT support if they have any recommendations. Without knowing who each client's cellphone carrier is, we cannot email them from Outlook and have it show up as a text on their end. I know there are several texting app's through Google Play, just curious if anyone has tried one or had a good suggestion. Thank you!

If you want to be sure the item has the best chance of being received (no way to control viewing...) use SMS.  Email cannot be relied on for delivery, let alone receipt and viewing.  Many many folks use free email services.  Free email services protect themselves and keep their costs low.  This means not all messages will pass their filters, and many times, there will be no bounce message when the address is invalid.

My wife and I send texts routinely to each other that never get received or will show up a few days later. She had one from a co-worker show up 6 months later.

Unrelated- I had a UPS envelope that I put in the box - there is a chance I put it in the fed-ex box because they were literally right next to each other. It showed up at its destination exactly 365 days from the date I put it in the box.

I've still got a postcard-size promotional piece for "Textellent" that I picked up at last year's National Tax Forum vendors' hall, alleging that it's good for "tax pros."   www.textellent.com is its website.  Just haven't had the spare fraction of an hour to really research it.
