Jack from Ohio
I need some recommendations from all the geeks/nerds out there. I just had catastrophic failure (Hacking virus) of hard drives on my 2 main computers. I am having to reload all the programs. (I had all my data files, for all the programs, backed up on an external hard druve. I need to extract a .rar file. What program do you use or recommend for extracting files from a compressed file? I know there are several of you techies out there...
Abby Normal
Winrar is what I've used in the past. Best of luck getting things back up and running! Any details you'd like to share about the attack?
PaulH
I have used 7-Zip to handle rar files.
Catherine
I have 7-zip; have not used it for .rar files, but in general I've found it very easy to use as well as versatile.
