I've taken several courses given by Jeff Lenning and also receive his email newsletter.  He is a CPA, a Microsoft Excel MVP, and Microsoft Certified Trainer. He provides online training at Excel University and is one of those listed in Lion's list above.  I'm not sure that a blog is where you'll have the ability to ask others for advice though.

Anyway, here is his blog site: https://www.excel-university.com/blog/

Thanks to Lion and Judy for helping.

All I want is a blog where I can enter a question and receive advice from other fellow users - skill level can vary.  Most of the links promote their own courses and topics - even though most of them are free, it is hard to simply ask a question from their website.

I will keep searching, though, from the links you have sent me.  Thanks again.

Blogs generally aren't used for Q&A sessions. You would be better off looking for an online forum focusing on Excel.

I did a quick search and came up with a few that look like what you might be looking for. My search was "excel help forum" and these first two looked promising:

I have as well and found the information to be very useful.  It's somewhat fast paced but easy to follow.

Excel: The Best Forums to Ask Questions

There are so many possible things to do with Excel that it's easy to get stuck on something. Your first instinct should be to Google your question. But when looking for something really specific, that doesn't always work. In that case you can ask your question to real people on a forum.

In this short post I'll share with you my 3 favorite places to ask questions about Excel.

It amazes me every time I watch someone else using Excel.   There are so many ways to accomplish the same task.   I was teaching a Jr. accountant how to do a bank rec yesterday, and watching him use Excel was an exercise in patience on my part.   But it worked for him, and he got to where he wanted to go.  And probably just as fast as I would have gotten there.

Over time I am learning that everyone has a different way their mind works to get an answer.   What is obvious to me as the best way to accomplish a task is not always the best way for someone else.  It took me a long time to get to the point where I can recognize this phenomena...sometimes.

But my way is still best...at least in my office where I am the boss.

You are all great help.  I'm back after an absence of a couple days.

Reddit was promising and I was able to post.  But then a moderator removed my post because the title "failed to state the problem".  Didn't know I was supposed to put 150 words into a title.  I'm not going back.  Some people think they are supposed to be Gabriel guarding the gates of Heaven with a flaming sword.  Forget it - people like that need to take a good look in the mirror.

A couple other sites want to add personal information to login credentials.  Prerequisites to setting up an "account" which is required before you can ask a single question.  Under the guise of security.  I believe some websites want to datamine for information so they can sell it to others.

In fairness to the above sources - I am looking for free advice and should probably not expect others to the trouble to spend time and effort for nothing.  I don't enjoy doing this either.  This board is great but I was happy to send Eric a little bit a few months ago.

I'm going to revisit Lion's post above and try again.  Thanks for listening to this rant.  Most of you know me to be outspoken.

Reminds me of what the owner of a company I worked for used to say.  "When we're brainstorming a problem this is a democracy.  But when it's decision time it's a dictatorship."
