no refund yet for 2020

Is there any way to check or call or mail to find out about a clients' refund.  It was efiled on Feb 25, 2021, for direct deposit.

Have the taxpayer get an IRS account, or get a POA and use eservices to pull transcripts, or call to request transcripts.

I thought where is my refund ONLY checks current year.

It will only check original returns, not amended.  I think that it does the three active years.  If you need to check amended returns, there is a separate tool for that.

Where's My Refund site needs to have a dropdown for the past 3 years at least. Once they switched it to 2021, everyone still waiting for a refund lost a useful tool. I guess they figured it would never get this bad, and one year would always be plenty.

In my experience, Where's my refund will show the 2020 return info until you file the 2021.  Then, as Abby says, you're done.

Just looked up a 2020 return with a $13k refund that client has been waiting on.  Says 'processing'.
