Anybody have any suggestions for tax return folders other than Nelco. . .they're getting a little expensive. Thanks

CFS sells folders that work with ATX [and other] software. I use them.

I use NATP folders with their logo and my address. If you order 500 folders, it will cost you about $500 for the folders and membership.

I have been purchasing generic folders (always green - -the color of money) every year at a local store - - Target, Wall Mart, K Mart etc, and adhere my business card to the front.

Usually costs around 10 cents each!!!! My clients always know where their tax info is.

I have ordered mine for years from Tenenz.com. Always use the same ones, have my cover sheet print to show my info in the window. Generally run about 59 cents each in lots of 100; but they offer early-bird and other discounts. They also have custom ones for ATX as well as other supplies including uni-forms. Take a peek.

I like and use the Tenenz ones but they discontinued my preferred color this year.

If you're a big-volume practice, Binding Systems of America has some fabulous customizable folders - color, paper weight, texture, binding method, ink color, etc. But the minimum order is 500 which would last me a half-decade. The lady I got info from was Lezan Foley at 631-663-3979 if you're interested.

I buy the cheap back-to-school sale two-pocket portfolios in a different color every year. (Sometimes I get them for only 1 penny each!) Last year several clients requested green, so that's the color for 2009 returns. I buy a few more expensive vinyl ones in the same color for entity returns and the fatter personal returns. Both types of folders have the slits so I can attach a business card. I get year stickers from M&C that class them up a bit. Clients like the color coding. I've actually had compliments on my packaging.

I think VistaPrint has customizable folders for not a big price. But, I've gotten so used to a different color each year, and the Vista minimum order to get the price down would last me for years.

I do my own assembly, so want quick and easy.

Now Nelco's folders, which I also have, can handle thicker returns, but they are missing the pocket.

Oh how I have missed that pocket when I only ordered from Nelco!

I buy bulk quantities of folders at Staples, then I apply my own address label and business card on the inside...saves a little money, but takes more time
