It appears that I need to check two boxes to avoid having to attach Form 1116 Schedule B to my client's return:

The e-file rejection comment shows "ForeignIncmSection951Alnd" and "ScheduleBNotRequiredInd"

I am trying to transmit a created e-file but keep getting this message: "An error has occurred and is preventing this e-file from being transmitted". There is a red circle with an exclamation point inside it. It gives me no clue about the error so that it can be fixed.

I have a client where the husband died in 2020 but received a 2021 W-2 for a bonus payment. How would I file that?

Trying to efile a 2019 990-EZ. Rejected by EFC for having "2020" in Submission ID field when it should be "2021". I have discarded and recreated the 990 EF Info form several times with no change in the Submission ID.

Any ideas?

New client has some activity in Kansas. He and his wife live in Texas. When I check the non-resident box on the state return I get a message that only residents can check box B.

I agree that the prior CPA was wrong. Some preparers just go too far in towing the line.

I inherited a client. He leases pasture land. He has a passive loss carryforward of about $85,000. The prior CPA classified it as "Other Passive Activities" for Form 8582 purposes. I want to be consistent in the treatment of the activity. ATX shows the carryforward in the Rental Real Estate section and I can't figure out how to tell ATX to show it in Other Passive Activities. Any help?

I transmitted a 2017 return to EFC. It was rejected - error message was "Year in Submission ID is incorrect: "2018" should be '2019". Is there way way to change the year?

I have a client who owns some restaurants and has general business credits from SS and Medicare taxes paid on tips. If I am understanding IRS regs correctly, the credit must be carried back one year. When I imported my K-1 data, the credit was automatically entered on Form 3800 and applied to the current tax year.

I want to carry the credit back to 2014, but cannot figure out how to prevent the credit being applied to 2015 without doing overrides.
