MsTabbyKats Posted March 27, 2013 Report Share Posted March 27, 2013 I know Tax Act falls short on business returns, so most of you won't be interested...but, the one thing I love is that it walks you thru the return, so if there's an area where you're having a problem, for the most part it will just guide you. For example, I was having a problem with an HSA. I went thru it step by step...and voila...no longer a problem. And it's great for states too. Those hidden credits you wouldn't know about...unless you knew about them! Or, what states have agreements with other states. Things you don't know...unless you know. Guest Taxed Posted March 27, 2013 Report Share Posted March 27, 2013 TaxAct is perfect for the new tax preparer who needs lots of guidance. They have the interview mode which is like TurboTax. Also the price is right to use as a backup tax prep software if your main software vendor delivers a dub! (We all know who those are?) Their TaxPreparer version for 1040 returns is good for 90% of your typical returns. They actually have a spreadsheet import for 8949 which TW does not even have (so there you go they are better than TW in that aspect).
