income taxes Posted February 22, 2008 Report Share Posted February 22, 2008 Have a client who received a W-2 with the only entry being 12a code J 680- and the third party sick pay box checked. I tried to e-file the return and it won't accept it due to no entries on the rest of the W-2. Any idea what I can do to e-file it? RoyDaleOne Posted February 23, 2008 Report Share Posted February 23, 2008 FYI, there used to be a conflict between the way IRS directed the reporting of third party sick pay on W-2 and the actual taxation of same. I have problems for a number of years over this issue (and always won) once the taxpayer reach regular retirement age the sick became retirement income and the reporting and/or taxation issues when away.
