Does the Company contribution (2%) get added to the total wages (line 3) of the 940 which would require the employer to pay Unemployment tax on the contribution? Thanks in advance. No, the employer contribution does not get added to wages for 940 purposes. The elective deferrals by the employee ARE included in wages for 940 purposes. Pull the Form 940 instructions from the IRS website and go to page 9 (of the version current at the time of this posting).
