  1. I decided early on that I couldn't use the inferior software put out by Hughes and company. My requests for refunds went unheeded by several personnel including Karen Bills (I think that's her name). I spoke to her once or twice but she was toeing the company line. No give. The most telling thing she said was: nothing. After going through the discussion about my expectations, my concerns, and my reuqest for a refund she asked what she could do for me. My response was to give me a refund. Her response was absolute silence. I asked if she was still there and she finally spoke up. I was put on hold and that was the end of the call. I still haven't given up on getting a refund. I decided to try Drake's PPR which was the best solution at the time for me. It was rough at first but I got through filing season with very little setbacks. The conversion process from TRX's re-branded TaxWorks product was excellent. Customer service/tech support was excellent! Linda said it true when she said her wait time was next to nothing. I was pretty amazed when after a couple or three rings I had a live person on the other end who understood the problem and knew how to correct it. Only on one or two occasions did I have significant hold time (maybe 15 mins to 45 mins, or so) I will use them again for the 2013 year. I think I'll go for the "early bird" Drake Unlimited.
  2. I had a similar experience, still unresolved. I usually use the MAX product but thought the opportunity was right to "test" the TTO product in the trenches without having to pay the full price. First, I received the MAX disk and codes for the unlimited MAX only. When I called the re-brander they interceded with ATX and I received the correct codes for TTO; however, I still haven't gotten the software. I was led to believe that the TTO product was on the disk I received and that Trial Balance was included on that disk, too. The Document Manager is supposed to be on a separate disk and they told me that they would send it. Nothing yet. Yesterday, I received the 1040 Quick Answers and the Kleinrock Business Quick Answers. No Master Tax Guide, no Practical Tax Expert CD. I suspect that the bi-weekly bulletin will start this month. Anyway, I was giving them through the holidays to get this straightened out before I start making phone calls (my cell phone minutes start on the first of the month and I will probably need the full load in anticipation of "on-hold" time). It's too bad that I am not an isolated incident but at the same time I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. Does that make sense to you? Anyway, Happy New Year Everyone!! B)
