    1099-R

It is actually a different 1099-R of his I am referring to. He has $4945 on lines 1 & 2, nothing withheld from federal, and $240 on line 12a. But nothing in 14a. If I enter the $240 I will get an error.

    1099-R

Thank you very much! EDIT: One more thing, what if there is no federal withheld, but there is still state tax withheld?

It is for the state of Wisconsin. Not sure if I can just put the federal amount in. Anyone else have any ideas? Thanks,

    1099-R

I have a quick question, I have a client with a 1099-R with $7,711.28 state tax withheld, but no state distribution. This causes an error: "State 1 tax withheld must not be greater than the state 1 distribution". I have no Idea what to do. any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  6. Hi, I'm getting an e-file error I cannot seem to find a solution for. It seems as if it is some sort of bug in the program based on the way it is written: MEFWI RESERVED The element 'TypeOfOwner' in namespace "http://www.irs.gov/efile" has invalid child element 'OwnershipPercent' in namespace "http://www.irs.gov/efile". Anyone else receive an error like this or have a solution? Thanks in advance.
  7. Hi. I'm getting this error in my program: MEFWIF1-003 Reserved Amount of sales and use tax due is zero or blank. The "certify" box must be checked, if no sales or use tax is due. I was wondering what value on the WI-1 or the 1040 affects whether this box on line 36 is checked or not. I am not able to check this box and do not want to do an override. If anyone could help me fix this problem, it would would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Thanks for the reply. I will check on that.
  9. I'm working on a form 990-EZ and need help with 4 lines matching up. I need line 19 to match up with line 27 column A, and line 21 to match up with line 27 column B. I cannot seem to figure out what I am missing. Now, the business I am doing it for did purchase a new vehicle in 08'. On 09's return line 27 column B read $3,679. I know that that number has to match up with line 19 on 2010's return, but anyway I figure the numbers, I am always getting a higher number. Same with line 21. It needs to be $19,496, but line 27 is $4,109. If you need more information, please let me know, and I will try to provide as much information as possible. Thank you.
  10. So, it doesn't matter that she only owned the home for only one month before the new tax season? I was just unsure because she does qualify for the credit based on the information she has provided. It was just the length of time she had to own the home for that was in question.
  11. How long must a person have owned their home for before they qualify for the WI Homestead? I am just wondering because my mom has a client that purchased a home in December of 08'. Thanks.
