  1. Hey Guys, I'm back with some good news! I've got everything working! I just want to explain to everyone what our original setup was, and what we moved over to and how we made it happen: We originally started with a Windows Server 2008 (32 bit ed) running as a file server. Originally the ATX 2009 files were installed on the server and we ran the netsetup tool so that all of our workstations could connect and access the ATX database via the network share. This setup was working but the office was out growing the setup. The plan was to move to an internally hosted solution with a new server 2008 (64bit) setup running Terminal Services/Remote Desktop Services. This would allow our users to work from home but have complete access to the software that they need (ex: ATX 2007,2008, 2009, 2010, Quick Books and some other software). During the installation process 07, 08, and 2010 installed without any significant issues but 2009 would not install / pass the .Net Framework check. After quite a bit of playing around and some in site from Jack I've found a way to make it work: 1.)First make sure that .Net Framework is up to date on the server (In our case this was v 4.0). 2.)Then install ATX 2009 on a workstation (We had an XP pro machine that we installed it on). 3.)Next we took the folder that the ATX installation created and copied this over to the servers program files directory: Workstation: C:\Program Files\ATX2009\ Copied to server: C:\Program Files (x86)\ATX2009\ 4.)The next part is interesting but is the key to getting this to work. You need to (on the server) go to the C:\Windows folder and copy the Microsoft.NET folder to your current users profile: Copy: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\ To: C:\Users\Administrator\Windows\Microsoft.NET\ In my case I was logged into the Administrator account on the server. If you are logged into a different account Administrator will be replaced with a different account name. 5.)Now that that has been COPIED (PLEASE DON'T MOVE IT JUST COPY IT) you can run the netsetup in the ATX2009 folder on the server. This will actually do the installation of ATX2009 on the server and add the appropriate registry entries. 6.)The setup is complete - Other Thoughts - You may want to move the shortcuts to the C:\Users\Public\Desktop folder so that all users have the shortcut on their desktop. If you already have ATX installed on another computer you will want to copy the Database and BackUp folders into the new ATX2009 folder on the server so that all of your data is copied over as well. All is working and we have tested the install on all of the user accounts in remote desktop. Everything is working like a dream. Since we tried so many ways to get this to work we ended up with this way to setup the software. If you try part 4 you may just be able to install the ATX software from the cd. It's worth a try. If you have any questions or need any help feel free to shoot me a message!
  2. Hey Everyone, I've been spending weeks trying to find a solution with no avail. We have upgraded our server to Windows Server 2008 Standard Ed (64-Bit). We have installed ATX 2007,2008, and 2010. All work perfectly. However ATX 2009 will not install. Each time I get an error: Some needed windows components are missing that need to be installed before continuing. And then it takes me to the MS Download site to download .Net Framework 2.0 for 64 bit Windows. But Server 2008 has .Net Framework 2.0 Built into the OS. So it will not install the file. I have tried running the install in compatibility mode. I have also tried uninstall all versions of .Net except 2.0, and I have tried the install on each version. I also tried running a sfc /scannow and that repaired unrelated issues and the problem still remains. If anyone has any experience fixing the issue or bypassing it, or has ATX 2009 installed on server 2008 std and it is working please help! Thanks in advance!
