  1. Agreed. Have been an ATX user for years (before their technological demands left me in the dust). I have also noticed Tax Act only has a Form 2106, not both a 2106 AND a 2106-EZ. That's different from ATX and a bit of a pain in the behind. But the price is good. I can get all the states from TA whereas ATX only allowed 3 states unless you bought more expensive packages. And Taxwise wanted to charge for every e-file unless you bought a supremo package. Not sure when you deal with all the pain-in-the-ass nonsense of E-filing if its better than the pain-in-the-ass of paper filing.
  2. Thanks King Chuck for the info. I hope I can get used to it. I think I counted 18 screens before I actually got to the SUBMIT this efile screen. Gee Whiz And I have to answer whether they want US savings bonds with their refund ?? Believe me, my clients don't want US debt instruments,,,they want CASH !! Like now..pony it up Uncle Sam !!
  3. Good point ! The 9.99 charge is one of the first screens; later a pay by credit card or prepaid screen does come up and I do click on prepaid.
  4. MsTabbyKats: As you know, I too am using Tax Act for 2013. Do you find the E-filing cumbersome ?? When tring to e-file for a client it seems to go thru multiple screens ?? Last year, although I purchased and started with ATX 2012, I switched to Taxwise for 2012. Taxwise only required clicking on a few screens to get the return e-file ready and to submit it for e-filing. Anyway to cut this down to reasonable measure ?? It always bring up a screen for a 9.99 charge for efiling and if the refund wants to buy Savings Bonds and other stuff. I purchased a preparer bundle so I have unlimited e-filing yet the charging screen is always there. Maybe I could suggest a change for the future to the TA company. Your thoughts.
  5. Nor am I. As far as the posts on this thread by others, I have been down this road before and experienced first hand of what I speak. I stand by my convictions and will not respond to any more of your accusations. I think it's unfair that you will not allow discussion of ATX or CCH REGARDLESS of whether a person has purchased the current version or not. So don't bother to try and justify why you say I can't. I think it's wrong PERIOD.
  6. Joel and I were discussing ATX 2013 NOT 2012 !! He was showing me comments by others on 2013 and I was discussing how they had enough time ti fix 2012 so it was not being repeated in 2013. So I would appreciate if you would NOT make it out like we were rehashing 2012 to make your case against such topics. It is clear you don't want anti-ATX remarks on this forum unless its by the preferred ones. And none of these people who are so called "iritated" have to read the thread, do they ?? I think this is a game: Someone comes in makes a few snide remarks. Others scream stop fighting you too and you use it as grounds to lock the thread. I find many remarks made by others on here offensive but they never get punished. I guess just like the official ATX boards if I pony up some money I would then be an ATX user and could comment all I wanted to about ATX good or bad. What a joke.
  7. It is really SAD that people DO NOT READ what I said but see what they want to. It is really sad that I can not express MY OPINION without you turning it into some charge of ranting. It is really sad that my thread was locked. I was having a discussion with Joel about ATX 2013 but apparently that is not allowed because some feel that is flaming the fans. Its really none of your business if Joel and I want to discuss a Topic. And our opinion disagrees with yours. Who asked you ?? Who are you to decide what topic we feel is relevant or not. Who are you to decide we are trying to stir up discontent ?? Just because I did not renew ATX 2013 I am now not allowed to speak about it with my friends ??? Is this America or Russia. I did not come on to your thread and attack. I did not post several threads so you could bring up "spamming charges" like the last time I visited. This place is very unfriendly. I realize you don't like my jokes or opinions. DON'T READ THEM.
  8. No Jack, it is YOU that knows not of what I speak.
  9. I like ATX as it was in 2011. My hope was it would return to a program that worked. BUT big shot CCH leaders had other ideas. Maybe they need a leader like you Jack to straighten them out. Why don't you apply for a job there at the next CAB.
  10. wow, Joel, thanks for sharing the stuff from the other board. I think CCH and ATX really did NOT fix this thing as properly as they should have after a year of complaints and beta testing. They have had plenty of time and experience from the 2012 disaster to have fixed 2013 past a few minor glitches. I can not help but wonder how much a fancy new computer system with plenty of RAM and hard drive and super processors is ACTUALLY compensating / covering up / masking the problems with this software. I also wonder if the beta testing was a smoke screen to make people think it was fixed by duping the testers into testing a striped down basic model, everything is great on beta testing but now in the real world it's crashing. THE most frightening part for me is the E-filing. IF you see a completed signed off return but upon E-filing goes through some unwarranted transformation that you have no control over UNTIL some IRS notice is sent saying there's a problem. That could ruin your whole practice.
  11. Well Joel that's a possibility but Kimmie did UN-ban me a couple of times. But I checked on Kamman's post count a couple of months ago to see who were the most frequent posters and I saw that his account was officially DE-activated. MODS of course can delete posts and threads and lock threads if they have a problem with it as opposed to banning a person. AND I have not seen Kimmie post anything lately although she did log in in early January like the 4th. I think it may be my account was DEactivated as opposed to bannishment and hence will not work BUT who knows. It was what the customer support person said but I don't have a lot of faith she knew what the problem was. BUT you could be right. I looked at DRAKE and found it was going to be a problem hardware-wise so I went with TaxAct cause they were still (my) system friendly. I'm finding it a bit cumbersome but support has been good so far. At least they don't have every form under the sun. i hated ATX forcing you to download forms you did not need. And their form downloading "progress" indicators sucked. This is splitting hairs I know but I feel I did not abandon ATX...ATX abandoned me when they decided to ramp up their technical requirements to satisfy a BIG FAT RAVEN who eats memory like GODZILLA. For me it's not just buying a new computer. (And maybe a new printer) to go to Win 7/8/9 .....Its the big jump in telephone fees every month to accomodate downloading/uploading speeds.
  12. That's OK Jack, it allowed us to talk about you behind your back. Please feel free to tell CCH off for FTM at your next CAB. I am not happy being denied my constitutional right to access ATX's private forum and ranting and raving about everything under the sun. Make sure President Harpo Marx gets the message. Thanks.
  13. I can understand you not caring about access over there. But your "denied access" makes me feel better in the sense that I was banned for the major crime of NonRenewal and not some other petty offense like saying "ATX sucks !" So thank you, Judy, for sharing my ATX misery.
