  1. I jumbed ship back in March to Pro Series but still have ATX for 2012. I will stick with PS for 2013, but wanted to know if ATX is '"FIXED"? I do not want to download if it is still not fixed 100%. I am on a network. I know it is only almost June and I may be asking a lot of ATX but wanted to ask people that were not trying to sell me something. Thanks
  2. For you that have abandon ATX to my understanding, you can dispute on your cc. The charge per return fee from what I have been told is not legal or legal under these circumstances. I will be trying this theory out in a few days. I am not an attorney but have talked with a few as well as someone inside ATX and other software people that confirmed the same thing. I think it is ludicrous for ATX to even think about deducting anything if they even want a shot at repeat business next year. But then again what do I know. LOL
  3. But them on hold and not come back. They have wasted much more time of mine and did not care. Really I would not do this but would be fun. I will be surprised to see what happens for 2013 with them. Will they even still be offering ATX? I know we have to spend money to make money. So I do not have a problem with the prices of most of the good tax software companies (Lacerte and Ultra too much for my size). But I do expect: A. A working product B. If the above does not work it should be replaced or fixed at once (In the case of a time sensivetive product). C. When calling support for help with the broken product not to be hung up on. D. After being told on more than one occassion we will be releasing and update to fix that then they actually do just that. I have said this before what really happen at ATX is they did not handle the problem/crises correctly. But I will never understand how they released something as broken as it is, knowing it was broken. They should have given us all the option in Jan/Feb to move to Tax Wise, Pro System or get our money back and go else where. But instead they jerked us a long for weeks/months knowing they did not have a fix.
  4. I plan on trying Drake after Apr 15. Then I will have given IMHO, ATX, ProSeries (PS) and Drake all a shot for 2012. Like most I do not like changes and was one reason I was with Tax Byte-Saber-ATX for 20 years. But even if I stay with PS with a 5 year lock on price, who knows where or what will be out. The pain for most of us long-term ATX users is the worksheet vs forms issue. But now after getting use to PS I see it is faster and points out just what needs to be done. Further, you can always jumb to the form at anytime. With all the ones I looked at they were all worksheet and just made me grinich. Change is hard but sometimes change is good. I tell my clients there is a difference to working harder vs. working smarter. So since ATX has decieded to not take care of us it has open the door for me to explore. But I have to say PS is becoming a front runner and only cost me a couple hundred more than ATX. And now that I have jumped to a worksheet drivne vs. a from they don't bother me as much as I thought they would.
  5. I agee with hating to line attorneys pockets but I would do that versus letting CCH just do this and nothing happens. I am not even sure if one will take place but wanted to post since I kinow the minute you post something in this area on myatx.com it gets zapped. But enoght is enought from ATX, like todays email: . Improved Batch Print Marked Returns functionality. Seriously, we should be happy with that? Should that not been something that was tested last year? How much does ATX pay for Ginney Pigs, we should know because we are them. So if someone does not step in and do a class action then so be it. CCH got a FREE PASS and I don't know about you but it cost me a whole lot more than .27 cents.
  6. Some of my post is missing above: Ultratax and Lacerte too expensive for my size Drake still using dos and Mr. Drake has been there 31 years so is this a Glynn selling ATX to CCH thing in the near future? Most computer geeks I talked to said not to go with anything still using dos since they will have to make a change and when that change comes you may end up with an ATX mess. But they have great customer service if you decide to go that route.
  7. Tax Works and Tax Act just did not like the lack of some of the forms, etc Tax Slayer too new to the Prof Market and I have been a Ginny pig enough this year with ATX. Tax Wise and Pro System both CCH products so would not even look at. Pro Series (PS) price was about the same with all forms, states and multi user. Locked in for 5 years price. The learning curve not bad and have not touched ATX since I have been with PS and I am moving faster and catching up. I was able to Batch Print all of my 7004s in minutes. Conversion only took 2 days (gave them to them on Sat about 12 and had back Monday morning) I had about 500 files. If you are interested please email me and I will email you the guy I worked with because I went in with other ATX users to work out a price and they all switched at that time but I told him there may be more and would he honor the price. So I think with the amount of people I started with we received a very good price, just a few hundred more than what I org paid for ATX. Locked in for 5 years and in 5 years I will worry about that at that time. Over all I am VERY pleased with Pro Series and look forward to it doing more than ATX can do. I was a loyal customer to ATX for over 15 years (all the way back to when they were Tax Byte) and I do not like changes especially this time of year. But the amount of time I had and knew I would waste staying out weighted the learning curve. PS has good customer support and most is on line with a great web site and community. I have no regrets moving only I did not do it sooner.
  8. I am not an attorney and I understand. I miss the old ATX SO MUCH. Glynn was awesome at the helm and wished he had never sold it. But I will not be surprises if ATX is not even in business next year. I think come any day now or about Apr 15 they are going to throw attractive incentives to move to Tax Wise (CCH product). Or something in that area. But no matter my issue is with how they have handled this "Critical Mistake". I have emails and phone calls that have still not been answered that were sent over a month ago, I have called and just get hung up on. I have wasted hours with Tech on my computer and at the end we are right were we started. They get their paychecks, we don't if we can't get our clients work done. Further, for me it is just the fact that my clients (most have been with me for 15 years plus) I have given my word to and will not let them down. ATX does not share that same feeling. It is March 18 and they are still not fixed. I did not pay for a product so I could do work-arounds and alternatives to what I was lead to believe it would do for me. It is sad that as an ATX user we get excited when one thing gets fixed. It is like buying a car and finding out all four tires are flat but then one gets fixed weeks later and we think that is progress.
  9. If this is not permitted please forgive me. I am new to this board but a 20 year vet with ATX as a customer. If you are interested in or have been contacted by anyone in reference to a law suit please post. I have talked with an attorney who is an associate (Tax Attorney) and a customer of ATX about this issue. Of course all of us have lost many hours to the problems of ATX for 2012 software and this will wait till after Apr 15. I for one have switched to Pro Series and no longer using ATX and have not disputed on my credit card as of yet nor asked for a refund. I may do by the end of Mar. The biggest problem I have with ATX is the dishonesty of their handling of this who thing. I do not believe they know how to fix it and never have. Because of them not being honest and keep "dangling the carrot" with "updates" that I believe they know would not work I left. I will do a different post on all I looked at before I left. Once again admin if this post is not appropriate I apologies. I just wanted to see how many others feel like myself.
