  1. I just had a return that i e-filed rejected and the error was that Sch M rebate didnt match social security records. So I deleted Sch M for e-file to go through. If taxpayers were ultimately eligible for part of the credit, will IRS recalculate and add to refund?
  2. I am getting an e-file rejection notice on a MN non-resident return-it says that on Form MN1NC line 16 must equal line 34 of federal return. Yet there is no line 16 on Form MN1NC. Anyone know what;s going on? I am a CT CPA and my client worked a little in MN-this is taking me more time than doing the entire return!
  3. I recently tried using ATX Document Manager and got a Windows error message saying Program Has Stopped Working, and it wouldn't open up. I had not used it for last several months, so I am not sure if there was an update, etc. I missed. Thanks for any input.

    Form 8868

I do a fair amount of Form 990 for clients, and tried e-filing extension Form 8868-it was rejected, and it appears that ATX doesn't support e-filing 990s? Would appreciate any help.
  5. No-there is a limit-see below: As of October 22, 2004, the maximum amount that can be claimed for SUVs weighing between 6,000 and 14,000 pounds is $25,000. The remaining $77,000 can be used for other kinds of business equipment, including vehicles weighing more than 14,000 pounds. Unless this changed, ATX Asset Entry forms are wrong-its becoming harder to trust their products!! cpa3917
  6. I entered a $44,000 SUV in Asset Entry (>6000 lbs) and expected Sec 179 to be limited; however, it took the whole amount. Anyone else have this problem?
  7. I am trying to edit Federal Client Letter in Customized Forms and noticed that many of the paragrpahs etc. do not appear-therefore, several paragraphs that show up in the letter (such as for e-filing etc.) cannot be changed in the Customized Form. Would appreciate any input.
  8. On the flip side-I left ProSeries three years ago, agter using them for 12 years, because we opened a new office, and they wanted another $6,000-because we had a new address! (They said they couldn't trust us to not sell it to other CPAS). Their tech support was terrible, and I had had it. We do about 100 1040s, and approx 50-60 1120s, 990s etc. I will agree that ATX is not as sophisticated as the more expensive products, but it does have some nice features, and for the money it can't be beat. This past year I did not have to call tech support once! I understand the whole CCH thing, etc. but we are all kidding ourselves if we think more changes won't happen out there. So take advantage of a less expensive (and basically good program!) while you can cpa3917
