  1. I have finally had enough, I quit, no more tax hoops or compliance again. I started in practice in 1974 and have been "current" during every period. Now, I run into some problem with suitability that disqualifies me from getting an efin for 2020 tax year. It sucks to be held to standards that no congresspersons are held to. I owe about $700 from 2017. It's a small amount, when you have it. Many things are difficult in my life and they could be this way for more than a couple of years. Meanwhile, IRS decided that I am no longer suitable for electronically filing an income tax return. Ok, then. I quit. I am not going to file anything electronically and am sending those few remaining clients I used to be able to serve to someone else. IRS is outside of due process. They just cut you off. Forty six years and they strong arm me. I have lost money from merely starting the season, getting the CPEs, buying the software.... and I cannot file a single goddamned tax return. Dammit, I paid for those returns in advance. Now, I cannot file them, I am out of pocket at least $1,200 for lack of "suitability". Yeah, just wait until the invoke the "mark of the beast" and see how if all works out.
