  1. 11-Jan i created an e-file and submitted it.. it only read "Validated by EFC". Kept checking over the weekend, call customer support several times and they said the return was not in my inbox but somehow when they logged in "their" system it appeared. Well after long hours/days of trying the Efile status under "My ATX" and "receive Ackn.." under the software i finally decided to copy the return and re-transmitted it.. guess what the second return was accepted by the IRS right away but now i'm stuck trying to delete the original.. any thoughts on how to delete?

  2. Wow don't know where to start.. i've had to figure out solutions on my own.. calls get disconnected, customer support nice people but totally clueless.. it's like the picked up these clerks from the street and put them to answer the phones. When i call is cause i've exhausted all other means including the wonderful "knowledge database"... last thing i want is to be on the phone 1hr and then no solution.. these guys don't even answer emails

  3. Tax Credits

Resident aliens generally claim tax credits and report tax payments, including withholding, using the same rules that apply to U.S. citizens. The following items are some of the credits you may be able to claim: child and dependent care credit, credit for the elderly and disabled, child tax credit, education credits, foreign tax credit, earned income credit, and adoption credit.

    Substantial Presence Test

You will be considered a U.S. resident for tax purposes if you meet the substantial presence test for the calendar year. To meet this test, you must be physically present in the United States on at least:

31 days during the current year, and

183 days during the 3-year period that includes the current year and the 2 years immediately before that, counting:

All the days you were present in the current year, and

1/3 of the days you were present in the first year before the current year, and

1/6 of the days you were present in the second year before the current year.

Children residency normally follows the parents residency.

 Re-check the "EIC" requirements... think it requires a "valid SS"
