Like it or not, I suspect that some how or some why, they will eventually combine ATX with the TaxWise program. It may not happen this year or next year, but I predict it will happen. From a sales point of view, TaxWise generates more revenue than ATX. Sure, ATX may be a better product, but I just can't see them keeping both products going. Something will have to give. I'm already hearing rumors they may just eliminate ZillionForms completely and replace it with another forms program. But if they replace ZillionForms, what will happen to MAX? ZillionForms and MAX are tied together. If you get rid of one you get rid of both programs. Am I right about this? I believe that CCH has their own forms program (called PPIII??, I think). Do you really think they're going to keep both ZillionForms and PPIII? Something will have to give.

I think it's sad that so many people had to get laid off. I've been using ATX for a few years and despite some minor problems its a good value for the money. What were they thinking in laying off so many experience people a week or so before tax season? To think that those employees were being strung along for months thinking they at least would have a job until after tax season, and then to have the rug pulled out of them right before they were going to help us - the customers. I knew that once they purchased both ATX and TaxWise that eventually they would have to consolidate one call center from a business point of view. Business is business. But to do it right before tax season when so many of us are depending on experience people to help us just doesn't make sense. Do major corporations care about their customers anymore?
