Foreign Direct Deposit

According to the Instructions for Form 1040 Line 74, it's only "in the United States." I think you need a routing transit number and foreign banks aren't in the Federal Reserve System. Your local bank could arrange a transfer.

Most foreign banks have so called "correspondent banks" in USA that they use to transfer money. For example a bank in Vietnam will have a correspondent bank (a US based bank) and they will use their routing # etc. In fact the checks written in Vietnam will have Us dollar denomination and the bank name on top will be some bank in NYC.
