JANIE GILMORE
I JUST COMPLETED A RETURN WITH EIC FOR TAXPAYER WITH NO CHILDREN. ON LINE 64a, THERE WAS A "NO" TYPED BESIDE THE LINE. THE EIC WAS INCLUDED TO OFFSET THE TAX OWED, BUT I WAS JUST WONDERING IF THIS IS SOMETHING NEW WITH ATX TO SHOW THE EIC FORM IS NOT NEEDED? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP JANIE
Booger
Schedule EIC is not required for an EIC eligible individual with no children. The "NO" automatically is placed on the appropriate line when the person is eligible for the EIC, but has no children. The program has always done that. OldJack
No would in many cases not give you any EIC. You need to read publication 17 where "no" is required to be put on line 64a: Rule 4, page 242 Rule 10, page 246 Rule 11, page 246 Rule 13, page 245 Rule 14, page
JANIE GILMORE
Thanks, OLDJACK, I did have to override some of the answers on the Worksheet. I'll go back and double check them. Janie
