Jake Posted August 13, 2009 Report Share Posted August 13, 2009 I do have the occasional client that is affected by the estate tax but I worry more about the loss of the step up in basis for inherited property. This is going to certainly increase the tax burden for many "average" taxpayers not to mention the additional work load in tracking down basis for us poor accountants.
