I had a call from an elderly war vet. who has just been approved for the benefit. He wants to know if it is taxable. I went to the IRS and the VA web sites and have not found much information. Veterans benefits: Disability benefits you receive from the Department of Veterans Affairs, formerly known as the Veterans Administration, are not taxable, except for certain payments for rehabilitative services.
