However, when you enter date of death ATX fills in the signature line with "filing as surviving spouse" on page 2 of Form 1040. According to the updates, they've added it to the 8879, too. The one I did this year was before that update, so I had client sign "Signing as Surviving Spouse." Shouldn't have to do that now. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
