JonesTaxPro
I have a client who installed some insulated Garage Doors in 2010. Would that qualify for the Energy Credit under the "any insulation material or system that is specifically and primarily designed to reduce heat loss or gain of a house when installed" The garage is attached to the house. Tentatively leaning towards does not qualify, but would like some feedback on it.
Gail in Virginia
If the garage is heated/cooled, I would be inclined to allow it as it will increase the efficiency of the building envelope. If the garage is not heated/cooled, I would think that the door between the garage and house would be the one that should be insulated.
