Received an email from the TN BBB saying that they have exhausted all avenues in attempting to collect my refund from TRX. Amazing!
Also, TRXsoftware.com is still up.
My first real job out of college was in NYC in 1984 working for a branch of the federal govt. Started at $17,144. Shared a 1 bedroom apt in NJ with an old college roommate and slept on the couch. Was up to almost 30k within two years. It helped that they covered commutting expenses.
I called Tim Sneed last week and filed a claim with the TN BBB. I emailed them back in Feb because I was having an issue with the online complaint file and they said they never received it. We will see how it goes.
Also my local Atty Gen would not take the complaint saying this is a business issue and they only handle consumer complaints. Strange since I ordered under my name. The TN BBB was also puzzled by this.
I too have received the emails, a letter and a post card to renew TRX... amazing. I wonder how many renewals they got? Im betting not many if any at all.
I have been running Vista since the 2008 filing season on a desktop and laptop with no issues. Ran ATX, TaxWorks & TaxWise. Time to upgrade hardware this year and leaning to Windows 7 as Im still not sure about Windows 8.
Im faily computer literate and I never understood the issues with Vista. Its been great for me and I have been using computers since 1984 and DOS and have used alost every version of Windows. It probably helps that I do a clean install every year.
Not sure for 2013. TaxWise is an option but not my first choice. It worked fine for the most part and the calcs were good but the program just wasnt user friendly and I estimate i took about 33% - 50% longer to complete a return than when I used TaxWorks.
Hi Mike.
As I have previously stated I would seriouesly entertain the option of using TaxWorks for 2013. The 2010 and 2011 versions were one of the best tax software programs I have used in 18 years.
I dont know if the latest federal updates or program updates to TaxWise are causing an error but I just did two Sch C returns and both had erroneous NOLs.
One of them had net income / agi of about $75k last year and carried forward a $26k NOL. The other was a bit more difficult to nail down but was definately not correct.
I talked to tech support and they claim its a proforma conversion issue that they are aware of. Geez.
I have a small business owner (sch c) that has a casualty loss on leasehold improvements and equipment. It been a while since I visited this subject and assumed it would go on a 4684 but the form states personal use - not used in a trade or business or income producing property.
Any help is appreciated.
