Possible solution - - - I updated to 12.9.216.1 (Don't forget the Admin is the user name when logging in to downloading). First run through was the SAME problems with the forced closing as with 12.8 version. I just went into the program file and deleted the "ASSETS" folder as was suggested in another post. (I typed ( C:ProgramDataCCH Small Firm ServicesATX2012 ) into the search function in windows search box it pulled up the location to find the Assets folder - easier than going through the computer and into the c drive fishing. Went back and then had to update the files (just the normal update). 700's something of them (gave me time to go make a taste beverage). IT ACTUALLY WORK. HOLLY COW. I have an OPENED tax return. At this point, it is like winning the lottery. I hope this helps. Thanks for the extra drink ATX.
