  1. Loaded software on a computer that is the master for holding data and program. Also use this computer to prepare returns. Go to workstation computer that is networked to this computer, rollover return, enter some information and try to close return on workstation. Workstation promptly locks up the atx software and the computer to where I have to reboot the workstation and the master computer to do any returns in ATX period. On hold with ATX about 1HR and just finally gave up. Anybody experience this situation yet? I am currently using XP pro fully up to date on both computers including net framework 3.**. All other years work fine with this setup. Does anybody have a clue as to where to begin. I even uninstalled on both computers and tried reinstalling as I didn't have many returns on the master yet. Didn't help. Thanks to all who might have a clue.

  2. Does anyone know about the new rules for IRA distributions in 2009? thanks in advance. I read both versions and neither one seems to make sense. Does it mean I do not have to take required distribution from IRA or 401 for tax year 2009 only?

  3. I am trying to figure out class life for a Drag Race Car? The motorhome to pull the trailer? and the trailer itself?

  4. TP schedule c makes improvements to driveway(ie blacktop). TP paying rent to landlord. Landlord would not pay or reinburse for this expense. TP moves business to another location. Old blacktop still has basis left. Write off on SCh C as depreciation or what? Many thanks.

  5. Can someone with a site reference or info answer this question. TP age 73 already withdrawing from IRA(regular) under RMD rules dies before he can take out this years RMD. Must administrator withdraw RMD under TP's # and remainder can go to heirs? No spouse alive, just 3 kids to inherit all. My reading leads me to believe that even though TP is deceased there still must be a RMD for the year of death. Thanks to all who can shed light on this. :scratch_head:

  6. Has anyone tried the new testing for EA exam. I need to retake part 3(missed by 1 point). Any good study aids or practical courses or suggestions?

Glad to see some people still out here.

May all of us have a great day.

  7. Is a realtor who gives a gift of a Wal-Mart card to a client upon closing subject to the same rule as an employee with business expences? ie $25.00 cap? thanks. Brain Dead and I should know this answer. I may think that in these days anything to get a client to the closing table should be deductible.

  8. Single TP deceased. NO refund no balance due because of a large Sch A deduction. If IRS doesn't accept these as Efile then why do you think ATX let me Efile it? Or am I missing something? iRS reject codes 1034 and 1019. Now that IRS has Rejected return what do I do? All help appreciated. Thanks

  9. Did I read that even a deceased person in 07 with/without a tax liability can get this money? Does same rule apply where one spouse died on 07, jt return being filed more than 1200 tax liability can get this money? What you'all think? Thanks

  10. In VA we send balance due vouchers to a different address than a refund would go. Anyone know how to modify the master letter so it knows if its a balance due use the other address and if refund use different address. If not can someone tell me how to change the master to use same address for all returns(VA's master address)? thanks to anyone who can help. :scratch_head:

  11. Basically this is what happened. Using 10K value on 12-31-06 which included all int, div,cg's for 06 court said split this account in half which was done in 07. Problem is all income 06 was reported in TP's #. I can nominee the int and div's but not sure how to get the cg's off the return? thanks to allthat have read and responded.
