  1. Finally getting back to finishing this return. I find that I now need to use Line 13 since more than 33 1/3% of their support is from gross receipts (day care). Lines 13a and 13b both make reference to "disqualified person". Just who are they referring to?

  3. It still isn't ready. When I go into a 4136 it still says DRAFT. The latest update (if you can call it that) says that it is now okayed to e-file Form 4136 for Trusts and Estates. Lot of good that does me!

  4. I see there was finally an update to the Schedule C - hope it was what was causing my problems. I made minor changes and e-filed a couple days ago. I got an email from tech support today in regards to my problem - a bit late!

  5. On the Form 9325 Acknowledement, does the program automatically fill in anything other than the number 2 box? Do we have to fill in the rest of the boxes if they apply (such as 2a) It seems as though these should be filled in automatically once the return is accepted.

  6. Found his email. I contacted him and this was his response.

"Yes, we need to fix that. To get by the error, simply put an address under Line 2 of that same worksheet where the blue input fields are for name and address. It doesn't make sense to put it there, but it will get you buy the error and allow you to create the e-file.

  7. I just received this answer from a knowledgeable technician at ATX...

It's a programming issue. I have reported it and we should have a fix within 24 hours.

William, Thank You for your competence and professionalism...

I am still voting with my feet....

I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited on this form. As of closing on Friday, it was not working. I came to work Monday morning and it still doesn't work. How do I get in touch with William Tasker?

  8. I am actually doing the return for the partnership and the buying member. The first few answers made this sound like it may be simple. Now it sounds like it is getting more complicated.

The only assets in this partnership are some cows and calves. When I entered the purchase(selling) date on teh return, it automatically marked the selling members K-1's as Final. The ordinary income was prorated for the number of days they were members in 2007 as well as their percentage of interest.

  9. Thanks. I talked to tech support and they said I could either enter a name and address or wait for the fix. They couldn't tell me how long it would take, but I was leaning towards waiting another day to efile. I was afraid if I entered information where my taxpayer really didn't have the need that it would put up a red flag for the IRS.

  10. I finally got ahold of tech support. I was told that an address needed to be entered on the worksheet for Sch C lines 16a & 16b. Once I did that, I didn't get an error in creating it for efile.

I guess that is their quick fix. They are working on correcting that error, but couldn't promise how long it would take. The support person I talked to said she didn't know if it was a "priority".

  11. I had checked for updates this morning, so I tried like you did and discarded the 1040N and NE Efile Info. Didn't work for me. I then again discarded these forms, closed the program, re-opened the program and again checked for updates. It worked for me also. Now all I have to figure out is the problem I have with interest reported on the Sch C. I have emailed tech support.

  12. The members leaving have only very small shares. It is all within a family. The biggest member gave these 4 members (neices and nephews) each a small share in the beginning with them contributing no money or assets. The rest of the remaining members are all his own children. It was setup with the help of an attorney, but has been very informal since then.

  13. I am trying to efile a simple return with a Schedule C. When I try to create the efile I get this error:

Sch C(1040) Error: IRS e-file exclusion: Name(s) and Address(es) of person who received Form 1098 must be entered. If Other Interest amount is not associated with Form 1098, paper file this return.

There is no Mortgage interest on this return. I have restored the field to all lines on the corresponding worksheet to make sure there is no "hidden" numbers and that doesn't work. Anyone else have this problem?
