  1. I guess this is my luck day! They were able to repair my printer! It wasn't real cheap, but a lot less than a new printer. I hope this lasts the whole season.

I have used HP LaserJet 1200 since year 2000 to present. It fasts, good, cheap ($300), save money for cartridge.

You can go to CROfficeTech.com to buy cartridge ( Half price on the market ).

  2. Been on tech support call for 77 minutes & counting. Trying to get bank manager to show that I am enrolled.

Tom, how did you get it to work for you??

    Eli

I have renewal with Republic Bank in summer. When I got my software from ATX, I have to enroll on Bank Manager. When you click Bank Manager, click enroll ( May sure you on internet), it will automatic direct to enroll page and you have to fill all information include your bank account, fee (ERC preparation fee , RAL Document fee, State fee...) , then click submit.

After you submit 10 min, you will received email from CCH that your application have approval with the bank you chose. After that, go to Bank Manager, click "receive Acks ". When you done, click on enroll, you will see your status " Enrolled" and your Fees (Rals Document fee....)

    Good luck !

  3. My sentiments exactly, Tom. I am very worried about this season. You & I are not some big company that can afford to lose any clients. I think as soon as April rolls around, i will definite be seriously looking at other software.

    Eli

Don't worry too much. I think it should be OK. This is the last season we are printing the Bank Check. Have you heard the new from IRS : Beging Jan 9, 2009, We will no longer using bank products because IRS was restricted on RALs, ERC..

I got checks and set up the printer . I am ready to print.

Good luck to everyone and have a lot of customers for last Rals Season. May sure you charge more money(tax preparation fee) for anyone using Bank Product. That is what I do for this year.

  4. I don't believe so.

FeeCollect is not a bank product.

It is just a way to get your fees from the client.

The clients' refunds are deposited to their account or sent by check just the way the IRS would normally do it.

There is no option for a RAL or IRAL.

The $10 transmission fee is just for actual bank products like RAL's, IRAL's, RAC's, etc.

I think this is last year ATX collect $10. Next year, there wil be no longer for RAL, ERC because IRS was restriction on Bank Products. It will begin on Jan 9, 2009.

  5. The estimated date for Sch EIC is 1/15/08 per the myatx.com.

If you click the Download Center tab at the top, then click ATX Forms Schedule on the left, it will list estimated dates for you on all the forms.

It is available as today 1/4/2007. Thanks ATX

  6. If only it were so! The regular 1040 program ($395) comes with three states but NO free efiles. The 1040 Office ($595) come with all states and 100 free efiles.

There was Free EFile for 1040 Office last year. So I have renewed that 1040 Office again on April 20, 2007. I don't know they changed ( only first 100 free Efile, then $5 after) until the last minutes when I received the Software in Dec 10, 2007. So I have to changed to Max Program and it cost me more $ 660 and $ 10 for transmition fee. Hopefully, the software will work smooth through the tax season. By the way, Sch EIC is still not available. Why ? I got some clients come to my office today but I can't gave them an estimate.

  7. One of my NY clients received a check described as above. Rebates are normally not taxed. Can one of you New Yorkers verify that for me?

    Thanx,

    taxbilly

No tax on Rebate check. However, you have to deduct the amount of rebate from your property taxes paid on Sch A.

    More information, go to www.nystax.gov

  8. It has been over a year since I was with Republic, so this may not be the case anymore. 2 seasons ago (2005 tax returns processed in 2006), you would not print the check out of ATX, but out of the Republic software itself.

The process went something like this: Prepare return, transmit to ATX, ATX transmits bank app to Republic, IRS issues ACK, ATX transmits ACK to Republic (at this point ATX is out of the equation), Republic sends you a check authorization, you print the check out of Republic software, you transmit check info to Republic via their software, Republic sends you info when IRS funds account, when check clears bank, and when your fees are deposited.

You needed to connect to the bank every day for your information. The communication between ATX and Republic was not very good, leading to lots of "Where is my ACK and why haven't you sent it to the Bank" phone calls and posts on the other board to ATX. It is why I switched banks last year. HSBC is integrated into ATX, making the process smoother (last year was the best year I have ever had with bank products - even though I don't process very many of them). I did not have a single bank product problem last year (I think I did about 12 between Rals and ERC/RT's.)

I hope this helps. It may not be the way Republic works this year, but it was how it was done in the past.

Let me know if I can be of more help to you.

This year, Republic Bank is integrated into ATX. That is why Republic did not send their software to me, they told me print check out from ATX software and online, but when I try to click "print check " from ATX software, It directed to Taxwise web page(log in ). I still don't know how to print check for this year with Republic Bank !!!!

  9. Nothing at all! I did try to go in & enroll, but it kept giving me an error and wouldn't let me do anything.

    Eli

I called ATX sales today and asked for : " Why other people who use Santa Bank do not have $10 charge on Bank App Trans? ".

She said : " it does not matter $10 appear on "my product " or not, ATX will charge $10 for every bank appl( no matter what bank you use). In this $10, ATX keep $6 and will rebate to you $4. "

  10. How did you find that out? Is it only Republic?

I went with Santa Barbra and don't recall any disclosures about fees for transmitting the application. I certainly don't want to get that suprise, since I don't charge a lot for the bank products.

    Tom

It was in my ATX software and it was in myAtx.com( click on "my product " ). I also have called ATX and they confirmed. It suprised me because it costs more $ for me anywhere between $2000 - $3000 for bank products. I am not happpy at all but I have to deal with it.
