  1. I thought we had to keep for 7 years
  2. I have been under the impression all these years that my clients had to sign all the forms,8879,1040 etc. and I keep these on file.and I give them a copy of all the forms. client just came in and stated her friend went to anoter tax person and he did not sign anything nor did she give him a copy of the forms. Is this legal. I know we use pin for e-filing but should he have signed the copies. This sounds like the tax person did not want him to know what she had filed on him.
  3. in doing truckers, can we have a mis. row, I don't have enough lines, the add/row feature doesn't work on this worksheet any idea on how to add to my list of expenses? thanks

no 1099C is the info entered as above, if so she had a loss, she stated it was sold for less than was owed on the home. but can this be claimed as loss, the way I read it she can not claim a loss on personal resident. I am totally confused here so I need all the help i can get and thank you very much

    internet fees

direction, amoung other things, one of the trucker web site listed this as as deduction. this is why I ask And since he just got married in 08 he better not get caught at "the ranch" or he will need it to look up a lawyer's name for a divorce. So I still need to know if I can deduct it.
  9. are internet fees allowed as deduction for truckers? thanks
  10. what is the formula for the meals of the days in and out for the truckers? I forget how to figure it, thanks,
  11. La has always been in need of some help, last year I was going to put st. adress and po box on my returns when I called to see if they would pick up on refund going to po box, the answer was "I'm not sure" that is why I change to po box and then send state as a stand alone. I did not want to take the chance that they could not figure out that refund from state would go to p. o.also the first year I was in businees I filed one with state retirement and took me 4 phone calls to make the people at DOR realize that this amt was not taxable to La.
  12. I just want to make sure i am right on this, around here we have a lot of people retired from state jobs does this count? I don't think it does.
  13. I called IRS and she stated that change of adrees would have to filed if street adress is not mailing adress. she laughed, guess she doesn't realize that small town people don't always get their mail at street adress and I am one, I didn't think this question was all that funny.
  14. in regard to my post about the street adress do anyone think I need to inform my clients now to file the change of adress so they will receive their money?
  15. I have a big question on this, when we use bank products we use street address with irs, but client receives mail at P>O> Box how is this going to work. if they send to street address I will have quite a few clients that are not going to receive it. Guess come May I will not answer phone and I will take a vacation, doesn't matter that I had to use street address because of bankg laws.
  16. anyone know when they will start mailing out tax refunds, I have a couple of direct dep. but not showing on web site where any has been mailed, thanks I told them when I filed they would be late but that doesn't stop the calling.
  17. Does La require that you mail 1099 Mis forms with the tax return, when taxes are due, if it is nonemployee compensation, no taxes taken out, amts listed under Sec C?

  21. I use RCB, and this year with the new way ATX set up for us to receive checks I have had a major problem with getting info to print cheks at least three times, I spent several hours on the phone with ATX and the bank, in each case and I got soooo tired of each one blaming the other. We have always had seperate software for RCB before and I never had a problem. Has anyone else had to deal with this? I have an unpostable out there now and ATX tells me they can not send it. William if you are still there maybe you can give me some advise. thanks
