cientax Posted February 14, 2013 Report Share Posted February 14, 2013 I have a client that dropped off W2' with CA wages. I guess she worked in CA during the year but she lives here in TX. I know a state return has to be filed but does a locality return have to be filed each different locality? She has six different W2' from different localities. Some one please say NO! joanmcq Posted February 14, 2013 Report Share Posted February 14, 2013 No locality. If there's an amount in local taxes for CA SDI it's not a local tax. At least so far, although San Francisco keeps submitting new legislation which might pass now that we have a one-party system. Meanwhile, of course, we have the highest state income tax in the nation, AND the highest state sales tax AND 1.5% local sales tax! No big deal--surf's up!
