In 2005 I used 1040 software. I exported a file and tried to import into MAX 2006 but I am getting an error message "This export file was created by a different program version and cannot be imported." Has anyone resolved this problem? Please help if you can.

Thanks much

You cannot export a file into a different year, you must roll the client over in 2006.

George is right.

Use the Rollover feature. In ATX 2006, go to the Rollover manager, check the returns you want to bring into the next year, then click the Rollover puppy (left end of the toolbar).

"Export" and "import" are for moving a return between computers, or backing returns up to disk.

Thanks much. I could roll it over.
