Indiana non-resident but no Indiana source income

Taxpayer was on an exchange between Universities. He was paid by his home University but working for part of the year in IN. The W2 is from the home University with withholding only in the home State. Do I need to file an IN return and try to apportion the income, or can I just file the home state since there is no IN source income?
