daisy Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Is there a way to have different sections for the different states? Some state are difficult to search for, for instance if you only use the state abbreviation in a post, it won't come up on a search because you can't search for 2 characters. Or maybe even just new sections for the states with the most posts, and then a misc state section? Or just create the sections as the posts for each state gets posted? Or make a rule where you have to type in the entire state name at least once? Anyone have an idea? Quote
kcjenkins Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 I don't think there is any practical way to do that, but you could certainly post in the General chat section a request that people do spell out the name of the state, or at least the 3 or 4 letter abbreviation, when they post about a specific state-related question. Many of us would be willing to do that. Quote
Eric Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Breaking the forum up into 50 sub-categories would make it quite difficult to casually browse the forum. I think kc is right, the best way to make the posts easier to search would be to request that everyone spell out the entire state name in their post, or maybe even include the state in the topic title. We could pin a topic to request this, if you like. Quote
