Dependent or Not

Client has answered all questions in regards to dependents as far as income and they provide more than half support..........with this exception.......Taxpayer pays for all expenses,,,,rent, utilities for a house that is rented for these GOOD FOR NOTHING YOUNG ONES to live in. They have no income, why not mama pays for everything. Son, mother of his child, and child live in this rented house......Does that qualify for taxpayers house? They lived there all year. I feel that it should because the taxpayer has all the receipts for rent, utilities, etc. But I'm not IRS

As I research the problem it says the person must (a) live with taxpayer.........or (B) be taxpayers child or descendent of the child......which covers the son and grandchild but not the common law wife.

Anyone agree? That is not a smiley it should be the letter b.

If you put a space between the "(" and the "b" it will be "( b" instead of a smiley face.
