neilbrink
I have a client who was a part-year resident with earned wages from 3-1-07 to 7-31-07 in Alabama. She also had earned wages in 2 other states. Are we able to efile Alabama's return because of the part-year residency income? ATX program is saying not, to paper file it, but wondered if I was doing it correctly. Thanks for the help. Neil
lydia33
I know you cannot file a non resident efiling. I believe the same thing for part yr residents It is the state of Alabama not ATX
GeneInAlabama
I don't believe I have ever efiled a part year Alabama return but it is filed on the same form as a full year resident which is AL 40. If you file more than 50 Alabama returns, you HAVE to efile it. I don't see anything that makes a difference between a part year and a full year return as far as efiling goes. Almost all my clients have been with me for years, therefore all are full year residents.
