bstaxes
Client had lawyer create LLC with 2 DBA's. Does client need 1 or 3 FEINs? I am thinking just 1 for the main LLC. In NJ would he need 1 or 3 sales tax numbers? Again I am thinking 1, but part of my brain is saying 3 (1 for each business). All business will be done on SCH C (3 SCH C). He has no employees now. Any thoughts would be helpful.
BulldogTom
It is only one company, it only needs one number, regardless of what it is advertising its name as. It will need 2 Fictitious Business Name Statements (or is this a California requirment only?) My 2 Cents. Tom Lodi, CA
kcjenkins
Each business probably needs it's own Sales Tax number, but he only needs one EIN for the LLC. Some states require that the 'fictitious name' be registered, others do not, but even if it is not required it's a very smart thing to do, to protect the name.
